Local Cuisine. Today’s blog post is brought to you by certainly one of our admission counselors, Alejandra.

As a Los Angeles native, my thing that is favorite about town is the diversity. Los Angeles is an ethnic and cultural hub enabling us to own access to wonderful art museums, musical venues, and my personal favorite, delicious food! I’m known in the office to be a food aficionado and am constantly surprised by what la plus the USC that is local neighborhood to offer in this respect.

One of my favorite USC neighborhood establishments is Mercado La Paloma (The Dove Market), a food that is mini within walking distance of campus. La Paloma features cuisines from throughout the world including my two favorites, Chichen Itza, that provides food from the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico, and Mo-Chica which features gourmet Peruvian meals at a price that is reasonable. Mo restaurant that is best in la by LA Magazine in 2010. This marketplace is definitely a gem that is hidden our community.

Every summer time, once per week, our admission counselors take a lunch that is long a neighborhood restaurant then explore what our community needs to offer by visiting local galleries and museums. A year ago one of the biggest hits ended up being the 23rd Street Café that will be accessible utilising the USC Tram. It’s a fusion of Indian-Mexican food, with a few of the most mouthwatering chicken tikka masala quesadillas.

Chano’s, a USC institution, is located a walk that is short campus. Besides the fact that it is open into the wee hours of this night, you’ll find some decent Mexican food there. Surrounding Chano’s is nearly any and every food that is fast known to man. Our office favorites include Five Guys, Free Birds, Chipotle, and Chick-Fil-A all within hiking distance!

In addition to some off-campus favorites, i’d like to highlight the excellent food options we have on campus. Our new Ronald Tutor Campus Center also has plenty of options for students including Panda Express, Wahoo’s Fish Taco, California Pizza Kitchen, and Carl’s Jr. Lemonade, a Los Angeles boutique café, has local and natural foods and is also among the most useful food that is healthy on campus. Additionally they have actually 4 different flavors of fresh lemonade each and every day, my favorite being blueberry-mint. In the event that you’re looking for an all-you-can-eat experience, the dining halls on campus, such as for instance Parkside Residential Dining Hall, give you a number of cuisine which range from pizza to international specialties.

Recently in Los Angeles there has been a food vehicle occurrence, boasting some of the most revolutionary, delicious, affordable, and quick meals around. Final we took a lunch trip to the food trucks week. In the image you can observe us getting willing to chow down on Filipino style tacos and good old American burgers. They’re on campus day-to-day and can be tracked through Twitter.

Well, I can talk about food for hours on end, however I encourage you to not only experience what our school has to offer on campus, but also get to know our neighborhood as you can see. Who knows? You might come across one of us at lunch one day!
